Sharing the environmental impact of our products
Mapping out the environmental footprint of our products, also know as Life Cycle Assessments. In this way, we can share their environmental impact in a transparent, clear, and easy-to-understand way.
Transparency in action:
Measuring what matters
Transparency has always been a part of our DNA at Stanley/Stella — it's one of the ten core principles of our guiding framework, the Stanley/Stella Charter.
Now, we're taking transparency to the product level by carrying out Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs) of our styles. We've partnered with Green Story, experts in textile LCAs, to make this possible.
LCAs provide clear, evidence-based data on the environmental impact of our products. This allows you, our partners and customers, to make more informed choices about the garments you choose.
What is Life Cycle Assessment?
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) measures the environmental impact of a product through its entire lifespan.
Many companies focus on the "cradle to gate" stage — from raw materials to factory exit. At Stanley/Stella, we go further. We measure from "cradle to gate" and "cradle to grave", tracking every stage from raw material sourcing, production, transportation, decoration, and use to eventual disposal or recycling.
For production and transport, we collected and used primary data from our suppliers wherever possible, including yarn, fabric, and garment manufacturing. Where necessary, we supplemented this with secondary data based on industry standards. To ensure accuracy, we gathered data from 23 facilities — 9 spinners, 4 knitting facilities, and 10 fabric or garment factories — and conducted on-site validation at many of these locations.
Partnering with
Independent Experts
Our collaboration with Green Story is hands-on and meticulous. This was not just subcontracting; we were actively involved at every stage: training suppliers, co-collecting data, verifying submissions, and conducting on-site visits.
In 2024, Green Story's experts spent three weeks in Bangladesh with our Sustainability team, verifying data directly at the source. Their methodology follows international standards (ISO 14040 & ISO 14044), guaranteeing reliability and comparability.
The impact of the Creator 2.0
The Creator 2.0 T-shirt is one of our most iconic products. Our LCA reveals its environmental footprint across different variations. If you're looking to reduce impact, the Natural Raw version is the best choice, as it avoids the dyeing process, thus lowering carbon emissions.

Expanding our LCA coverage
In 2025, we began sharing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data for our European range. Today, that coverage includes our US range — from T-shirts and sweatshirts to polos and pants — supporting our commitment to transparency across every style. Each product includes clear impact data to help partners communicate a product's environmental footprint.
Because dyeing affects impact, we provide values for up to four variations per style:
- Solid Colors – dyed fabric
- Natural Raw – no dyes used
- Heather – dyed fibers
- Eco-Heather – dyed fibers using a different method
Driving positive change together
Sharing clear, evidence-based environmental impact data for each product is a key step in our sustainability journey. It helps us focus our efforts and it gives you, our partners and customers, the confidence to make informed choices.
Transparency is not just a trend; it's a necessity. By providing impact data for our products, we're proudly leading the way in sustainable practices, and we invite you to join us.
