Bringing clean water to Bangladesh: impact beyond fashion

Access to clean drinking water is a basic human right —yet for many communities in Bangladesh, it remains a daily struggle. We're changing this reality by bringing safe water to over 10,000 people across 23 villages, proving that positive change flows from purposeful action. 

Clean water changes everything—from better health to improved daily life. In our production, we already ensure careful water management and filtration. But true sustainability means going beyond our factory walls. Through our mobile hospitals programme launched in 2023, we identified that many health issues in local villages stem from poor water quality. This insight led us to take action: together with local partners, we're installing water filtration systems and wells in these villages to address a root cause of illness. 

Together with our trusted partner Agroho and Drip by Drip, we're installing 16 water systems in Mobile Hospital villages. These strategically placed wells not only serve their immediate communities but also benefit neighbouring areas —reaching a total of 23 villages.

Before any installation, the water quality is tested to check for pollution levels, especially from factory effluents. This helps us choose the right solution for each location: either a Deep Tube Well—a specially engineered well that reaches deep underground to access clean water—with simple filtration, or a more advanced water treatment system where water quality needs extra care. 

Community ownership in the project makes all the difference. A practical maintenance programme ensures the longevity of each system. Local community members are trained and equipped with a dedicated budget for essential maintenance and basic repairs. For more complex requirements, Agroho provides additional technical support, including repairs or system replacement when needed. This balanced approach of local expertise and professional backing ensures reliable access to clean water for years to come. 

By March 31st 2025, over 10,000 people will have access to clean water through this initiative. Each tap represents healthier families, stronger communities, and a more sustainable future. It's proof that sustainable impact starts with small steps but creates big ripples. One village at a time, one tap at a time, we're helping communities thrive.
