Our Path to Sustainability

Advocating for positive change

Our sector is one of the least sustainable industries worldwide. Since day 1, we have seen it as our shared responsibility to change how we create and operate.

Premium quality, made to last

From the first sketch to the final stitch, we design styles made to last.

Consciously chosen materials

Fibre selection defines both the product quality and its environmental footprint. Since day 1, we have been committed to responsible and sustainable sourcing.

93% of our range

Organic cotton

We exclusively use GOTS certified organic cotton: grown from seeds that have not been genetically modified (non-GMO) and cultivated without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilisers.

7% of our range

Recycled Polyester

Since 2018, we have been using only recycled polyester made from post-consumer PET bottles. It takes between 38 to 80 plastic bottles of 550ml to produce our jackets - depending on the style.

< 1% of our range

Recycled cotton

Launched in 2021, our Re-range is paving the way for more circular production at Stanley/Stella. These garments are made from 50% recycled organic cotton taken from cutting waste, and 50% undyed virgin organic cotton.

Our decarbonisation journey has begun

2024 marks the launch of our first-ever decarbonisation plan, a huge project that unites the entire Stanley/Stella ecosystem around a common goal: to reduce our relative* carbon emissions by 30% by 2030. Achieving this goal will be no easy task, but by working hand in hand with our suppliers and partners, we’re going to bring about the radical transformation that’s needed. Together, we commit to a better future.

*Relative emissions = emissions per ton of produced garments

Caring about people

We consciously choose to produce our garments in Bangladesh, and take pride in the positive impact we have on the lives of the skilled and dedicated factory workers.

Fair Wear Leader status

Showing best practices in complex areas such as good working conditions and freedom of association.

10 partners’ factories sharing our values and vision

That we visit every day to ensure fair and safe working conditions.

Giving back to local communities

By implementing projects for the communities of our cotton farmers, factory workers and those close to our HQ.
